In recognition of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the Department for Work and Pensions is making an additional £842 million in funding available to help low-income households with essential food and energy costs.

The Household Support Fund has been extended until the end of March 2024 to help those most in need with the rising costs of energy, food, water, and other related essentials.

The funding will be distributed by Local Authorities in England who will define eligibility criteria, the application process, as well as what the money can be spent on.

Vulnerable households and families are encouraged to check with their local council to find out what support is available to them.
