Funding to Support the Creation of New Woodland (England)17th June 2021

The Forestry Commission has opened a new £15.9 million tree planting grant scheme – the England Woodland Creation Offer – to provide greater financial incentives for landowners, farmers and public bodies to plant and manage trees.

The scheme is funded through the Nature for Climate Fund and will and support the creation of over 10,000 hectares of new woodland. Administered by the Forestry Commission, the scheme will provide grants of over £10,000 per hectare to support woodland creation schemes. 

Schemes that clearly demonstrate they will deliver environmental or social benefits can receive additional contributions.

Applications can be submitted on a continuous basis and funding decisions can take 12 to 20 weeks from receiving a valid application.
