Funding for National Events (Scotland)4th August 2023

The National Events Programme is now open for applications for Round 49, which will support events taking place from January to March 2024. The programme provides funding of between £5,000 and £25,000 for live public facing sporting and cultural events that take place outwith the local authority areas of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Events that are eligible for funding must align with the key impact areas outlined in the National Events Strategy, including economic, tourism and business, brand, identity and reputation, media and profile, social and cultural, and sustainability. They must also have a delivery budget of more than £20,000 and attract over 1,000 in-person attendees.

To be eligible for funding, events must:

  • Be public facing sporting or cultural events
  • Take place outwith the local authority areas of Edinburgh and Glasgow
  • Have a delivery budget of more than £20,000
  • Attract over 1,000 in-person attendees
  • Align with the key impact areas outlined in the National Events Strategy

The grant can be used to cover a range of costs associated with event delivery, including marketing, promotion, venue hire, staffing, and production.

The National Events Programme is funded by the Scottish Government.
